This mod requires Brave New World. It is part of the Kings of The Wild Frontier event.
Overview[]
The Blackfoot[]
The Blackfoot Confederacy is a collective name for a number of tribes of Plains Indians who shared a common language and kinship, as well as similar enemies. Bison hunters and trout fishermen, they banded together to share hunting and foraging territory and ultimately to protect it against encroaching enemies. They were the Piikáni, or "Blackfeet," the Káínaa, or "Bloods," meaning "bloodthirsty," and the Siksikáwa, or "Blackfoot."
Crowfoot[]
Crowfoot was born to the Káínaa, members of the Blackfoot Confederacy. After his father was kiled in an enemy raid, his mother remarried and moved her young son to the Siksikáwa, another member band of the Blackfoot. There, he would survive many battles and injuries, becoming a decorated warrior and possibly even war chief, although he was best known for his role as Blackfoot Peace Chief. As Peace Chief, one of Crowfoot's first and greatest acts was to adopt a Cree boy as his own son. The Cree had always been enemies of the Blackfoot, but by raising a Cree as his own, Crowfoot hoped to bridge the gap between the two nations. And bridge the gap he did: this son, Poundmaker, grew up to be Peace Chief of the Cree and the two forged lasting peace between the rival nations. During Crowfoot's tenure as Peace Chief, the Lakota people who were allies of the Blackfoot declared war on Canada. They came to Crowfoot to ask him for aid in their war. Crowfoot refused, cutting ties with the Lakota and banishing them from Blackfoot lands. For this, he was heralded as a hero by Canadians and the English alike. But Crowfoot didn't stop there. As the Lakota war began to wind down, Crowfoot worked as a diplomat, helping to work peace out between the Lakota, Canada, and the Blackfoot.
Dawn of Man[]
"Blessing be upon you, wise Chief Crowfoot of the Blackfoot people, known to your people as Isapo-Muxika. Your bravery and determination in battle, suffering many injuries in your nineteen battles by your name Packs A Knife, earned you respect amongst your peers, but it was your tireless work for peace that earned you the name Manistokos, or father of the people. You toiled to build relations between the Blackfoot and the agents of different organizations that came into your lands, which sometimes bought you into conflict with other leaders of your people. In your negotiation of what the colonisers called Treaty 7, you proved your wisdom through slow deliberation and counsel of your people.
Prudent Crowfoot, a war is once again brewing. Your people are once again in need for a strong, composed voice to stand for their rights. Trouble is once again brewing, with discord reaching a fever pitch. They need your steady hand to guide them once again. Can you navigate the treacherous times to revitalise your people while remaining at peace? Can you build a civilization that will stand the test of time?"
Introduction: "Welcome to the land of the buffalo, where we, the Blackfoot, inhabit. I am Crowfoot."
Defeat: "What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the winter time. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the Sunset."
